Annual Fourth of July Post Park Dance
BBQ starts at Noon, Dance starts at 9:00 on Saturday, July 06, 2013One of the most popular local events! The Fourth of July Dance!
Benefiting the MISD Booster Club. Music provided by the Craig Carter Band Admission; $8.00/Stag, $15.00/couple. Traditional BBQ starting noon till 3:00 pm $6.00/person. This is a popular event so reserve a room early!!!
For those who noticed the date of this event, it coincides with the well know CASI Sanctioned Chili Cook-off held the same weekend! 'Chili, the "Official State Food" of Texas!'

Mustang and Cowboy Chili Cookoff
on Saturday, July 06, 2013Friday, July 5th there will be a welcome reception for all Chili Cooks at the Patio located at the Marathon Motel.
Saturday, July 6th Join us for the Cowboy Chili Cook Off! This is a CASI sanctioned event benefiting a yearly-selected charity.
Sunday July 7th will kick off the Mustang Chili Cook Off! Again, a CASI sanctioned event benefiting a yearly-selected charity.

Marathon 2 Marathon
on Saturday, October 26, 2013The Marathon 2 Marathon is an annual event held in late October. This event consists of the full 26.2 mile Marathon, a 13.1 mile Half Marathon, a 6.2 mile 10K and a 3.1 mile 5K all sharing the same course on Hwy 385 north between Ft. Stockton and Marathon finishing in front of the Historic Gage Hotel in Downtown Marathon. Other activities included in this event is a pre-race pasta dinner, a Catfish Fry Fundraiser with live entertainment, an awards ceremony followed by a post race party with live entertainment. You don't have to be a runner to participate and enjoy this exciting event.
